Ilocandia: Burgos Museum and Vigan Jar Factory

Thank you for checking out my post. Please visit my new blog https://letsgoady.com/travel/. I am posting there every week about my recent travels and lifestyle. Thank you. XOXO -ady

Our next stop is the Padre Burgos Museum and Vigan Jar Factory.
From Chavit Singson Baluarte, we then proceed to Burgos Museum. It is approximately 7mins (4km) apart from each other.

Padre Burgos, is the ancestral house and birthplace of Fr. Jose Burgos. It is located near Provincial Capitol and close to St. Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral. The museum is open during Monday to Friday (9:00am – 4:00pm).

The museum portraits Memorabilia of Fr. Burgos and his family, some of old furniture, old books, historical records, and a painting of Basi Revolt of 1807 by Don Esteban Villanueva.

I only got one picture on the museum. It is the Perez Printing Press. According to the image information, it is originally by Mr. Hannah an American missionary who settled in Vigan. He used this press in propagating the Christian Methodist faith.

After Burgos Museum, we then proceed to Pagburnayan (Vigan Jar Factory). It is just near the Burgos Museum, about 2mins (700meters) away.

The place outside is bit muddy. There were a lot of souvenir stalls that sells different handcrafts and printed t-shirt where I bought my I love Vigan tshirt. :)

There is an actual demo on how make the jar. The jar maker seems to do it smoothly. First, he makes a handful of clay, place it on a plate-like holder, then start rotating the circular holder on the lower part of the plate and rotate it in counter clockwise motion while molding the clay on their bare hands.
