We hurriedly go back to our designated vans. Since its all raining outside, I don’t have
the chance to see the beauty of possibly what I can see outside. I was actually
hoping that the weather would give us even a minute to mesmerize the
surroundings.
Paoay Church also known as St. Augustine Church in Paoay is
just 4km away from Marcos Mausoleum.
The church which was made of Baked Bricks, Coral Rocks and massive
buttresses is an Earthquake Baroque
style structure. It is an architectural answer to the seismic state of
the country where most of earlier churches suffered from destructive earthquakes.
Beside the church is a 3-storey coral stone bell tower that served as an observation post by the Katipuneros during the Philippine revolution. It is been distanced to the church to avoid the destruction in case of collapse.
