Our second destination – BACLAYON CHURCH.
Baclayon which means “Let’s
walk” is where the Baclayon Church is situated. Baclayon Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate
Conception is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines.
It is known for the miraculous image that appeared on the
church wall. The face is said to be Saint Pio del Pilar. They also said that another face and a woman
carrying a baby can be found on the church premises.

As a respect to the holiness of the church, one must follow
their strict rule in proper attire before going inside. Girls should
cover their bare skin with some tapis or silk scarf available on the entrance.
Don’t worry; there are staffs ready to assist you for this.
adyTips3: It would be nice if you have a Long
Scarf while Travelling. This could be useful in many times. Like wearing as a
Hair Dress, Covering some parts of your body like on your neck if it’s cold or
Covering your Head against the sun. It actually varies from person to
person. But for me, I really feel comfortable when I have one in hand.

Before reaching the altar, you will passed through some
displayed Saints and a traditional Confession Room.
Today, the church still holds Sunday Masses in this
church. In fact, we still witnessed the church choirs rehearsing for the next
day mass.
One structure that caught me is the “Pulpito”. It is an elevated platform to a wall where priests could
preach. A canopy above, “Tornavoz” acted
as a sounding board, helping to amplify the preacher’s voice.
I believe these structures are wildly used on the earlier
times when Microphones are still not used or invented.
