Our next destination is just like a normal experience. Well, this next adventure is to just cross a bridge. But don’t underestimate it, because it’s not your normal stone made bridge. Located at the municipality of Sevilla can be found a fun attraction to visit – the Bamboo Hanging Bridge.
Before crossing the bridge, you need to pay 20 pesos as
entrance fee (10 pesos for the entrance fee itself and the other 10 pesos is for
the environmental fee). According to the info posted, the proceeds will be used
for the maintenance of the bridge and amenities and the Environmental fee is to
preserve, maintain and protect the environment.
Before, the bridge is just made of bamboo and rope, but
today, the rope is transformed into steel cables giving it more firmness and
safety. The flooring is made out of
bamboo which makes it slippery and the experience of swaying side to side and
bouncing up and down.
Before there is only one hanging bridge there, but they
eventually add another one to accommodate the incoming and outgoing flow of the
people who are using the bridge.
The bridge spans at approximately 40 meters and showcase its
great view of the Sipatan River below. At the other side of the bridge, there
is a community where you can buy some souvenir items and pasalubongs. Hint: They offer the lowest price so
far.
Also, you can also find the “Buko King”. He can strip up the
coconut using just his teeth in a certain seconds. But unfortunately, he’s not
around that time. Maybe because it’s getting dark already when we’ve reached
there. The show is actually not for free. Before they collect 50 pesos per
performance but now it do changed to 250 pesos.
Aside from the delicacies, the place also sells Tshirt with
a variety of cute designs. The tshirt prices range from 125 to 150 pesos.
Here’s the expense total for the pasalubong and tshirt that I’ve spent there:
TSHIRT: 870 (5XL tshirt x 150 = 750 + 1Small Tshirt = 125)
DELICACIES:
PASTEL
WITH YEMA (2 boxes x 175 = 350)
STAR PEANUT: 140 (15 packs)
PEANUT
KISSES: 140 (16 packs)
